What are the key dates of each term at U-M?
The academic calendar on the Office of the Registrar's website shows key dates of each term, including the beginning and ending of classes as well as breaks.
U-M is on a semester system with two full-terms during the academic year (fall and winter) and two half-terms during the spring and summer months (spring and summer).
- Fall term typically begins the week before Labor Day with examinations ending in late December.
- Winter term typically begins in early January with examinations ending in late April.
- Spring term typically begins in early May with examinations ending in late June.
- Summer term typically begins in late June and ends in mid-August.
