Canadian Registered Education Savings Plans (RESP) and Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP)

Does the University of Michigan accept Canadian Registered Education Savings Plans (RESP)? Does the University of Michigan accept Canadian Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding?

The University of Michigan accepts both Canadian Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) and Canadian Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) funding.

A Canadian Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP) is a special savings account for parents who want to save for their child's education after high school. Once the student enrolls in a qualifying educational program, such as UM-Ann Arbor, an educational assistance payment (EAP) is paid to the student from a RESP to help finance the cost of post-secondary education. Learn more on the Government of Canada website.

The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is a financial aid program that can help you pay for college or university anywhere in the world as long as it's been approved, and UM-Ann Arbor is an approved institution. OSAP offers funding through grants (money you don’t have to pay back) and a student loan (money you need to repay once you’re done with school). For more information, visit the Ontario webpage.
