French Baccalaureate Credit

Does U-M give credit for French Baccalaureate exam results?

If taken, French Baccalaureate exam results are considered for possible advanced standing credit. Limited advanced standing credit may be awarded for most academic subjects with acceptable exam scores of 10 or above on the baccalaureate when the coefficient is at least four. Approximately 12 credits may be awarded depending on the number of subjects with coefficients of four or above with scores of 10 or higher. Any credit is general departmental elective type credit and would generally not be considered equivalent to any specific U-M course.

If you plan to enroll and wish to receive credit, please have an officially certified copy of your externally issued French Baccalaureate exam results showing scores for each exam subject sent to ecredentials@umich.edu. We also require an official English translation.
