U-M Information for Parents

I'm the parent of a prospective U-M student. Where can I find useful information?

Sending a student to college is a major life event for all families. U-M is committed to helping parents and students throughout every stage of this process.

Parents and Family of Prospective Students: Visit the Admissions Parents & Guardians webpage to learn more about U-M's academics, costs, and aid. You may also register for an information session and Central Campus walking tour, offered several times weekly, to learn more about the University of Michigan.

Parents and Family of Admitted Students: In recognition that parents and family members are an important source of encouragement and support as students enter the university, the Office of New Student Programs offers a separate Parent & Family Orientation in addition to the required student orientation.

Parents and Family of Current U-M Undergraduates: U-M has a website just for families of current University of Michigan undergraduates. The Parents & Families website is full of information about family resources, financial information, your student's experience, and Parents & Family Weekend. It also includes campus news and important dates.
