Readmission

I have taken some time away from U-M and now want to be readmitted. What do I do?

The procedures for readmission vary among the U-M schools and colleges. Information for readmission to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is listed below. If you were an undergraduate in another school or college, you should contact that school or college directly.readmission to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA) is listed below. • All returning students are encouraged to schedule an appointment with their academic advisor to develop a re-entry plan.
  • Students who have been away for less than two years should contact the Office of the Registrar at 734-647-3507 or at wolverineservices@umich.edu to obtain an appointment for registration.
  • Students who have been absent from LSA for more than two years or have been deactivated may apply for reactivation.
  • Students who previously attended LSA and were academically suspended or recessed may apply for reinstatement after a one year absence. Students seeking reinstatement must also meet with a Student Success Advisor prior to the start of the term of re-enrollment or their registration may be canceled.
  • If a student has done academic work out-of-residence since leaving LSA, official transcript(s) of that work should be submitted to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at transcripts@umich.edu.
  • International students on temporary U.S. visa status (F-1 or J-1) who have missed a full year must contact the International Center to have their visa status updated.
