I am applying to the Stamps School of Art & Design. When is the portfolio due and how do I submit it?
Your portfolio is due the same time as your application—by Nov. 1 for Early Action and by Feb. 1 for Regular Decision. View the Stamps School of Art & Design Portfolio webpage for guidelines on how to prepare your portfolio for submission.
All Stamps School of Art & Design portfolios must be submitted online through SlideRoom. You will receive a link to SlideRoom through your Common Application.
After starting the Common Application and choosing the University of Michigan as your college, submit your portfolio using the following steps:
- Stamps applicants must answer "Yes" to the questions: “Are you applying to one of the programs listed above (Art & Design, Architecture, and Business)?" and "Do you understand you must submit a portfolio by the application deadline so that your creative work or skills will be considered as part of the admissions process to University of Michigan?” This will turn on a section called “Portfolio” at the bottom of the left sidebar.
- Click the link under "Portfolio Instructions" to open the Stamps School's SlideRoom portal.
- After the Stamps School's SlideRoom portal opens, you'll be prompted to log in to an existing SlideRoom account or create a new account.
- After logging in, you'll see a list of the School's programs. Undergraduate applicants should choose the program labeled U-M Stamps School of Art & Design BFA/BA Portfolio and click "begin."
- Answer questions and add your creative content to complete your portfolio.
- SlideRoom checks to see if your Common Application has been submitted; the portfolio cannot be fully submitted until the Common Application has been submitted. Once your application has been submitted, you can proceed with submitting your portfolio in SlideRoom.
There is a $10 transaction fee to submit your portfolio. Students who receive a Common Application fee waiver will automatically receive a SlideRoom fee waiver.
