Pre-Law

Does the University of Michigan have a pre-law program?

Although U-M does not offer an official pre-law program, the Newnan LSA Academic Advising Center offers pre-law advising appointments for students who are considering and applying to law school. We encourage students interested in a career in law to pursue a challenging curriculum that fosters critical thinking, logical reasoning, and effective writing. Co-curricular activities should promote awareness of social issues, develop leadership skills, and challenge the student to creatively and collaboratively solve problems.

The University Career Center also offers multiple pre-law resources and services to students preparing for a career in law, including one-on-one appointments.
