How many credits should I have as a transfer applicant to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA)?
There is no minimum credit requirement for transfer applicants to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA), although we give priority to transfers who are coming in at the junior level (55 credits and above). Applicants with less than two semesters of graded college work at the time of application will have more emphasis placed upon the high school academic record as part of our evaluative process.
For LSA, we will transfer a maximum of 60 credits; 62 credits may be able to be transferred if you have an associate degree.
Competitive LSA transfer applicants will have taken a strong curriculum of transferable college courses. As we assess the curriculum elected, we are looking for classes that satisfy LSA distribution requirements, align with academic area of interest/major, and/or demonstrate progression of curriculum (upper-level coursework). See the Requirements & Deadlines webpage for additional guidance.
