Guest (Non-degree) Application and Deadline (Spring/Summer Terms)

How can I attend U-M as a guest (non-degree) student in the spring or summer?

Non-degree seeking students who wish to take courses at U-M during spring (May/June) and summer (July/August) half-term sessions should complete a Guest Application, which can be obtained on our website.

Guest students will not be able to register for the fall or winter full term sessions. Fall or winter term non-degree admission requires the completion of a Non-degree Application instead. Applicants who have been admitted and are planning to enroll at the University of Michigan as a degree-seeking student for the fall term should contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to determine if changing your term of degree-seeking enrollment to spring or summer is possible.

Applicants who are graduating high school seniors are NOT eligible for spring term, but may apply for summer term. They should have a GPA of 3.8-4.0 (on a 4.0 scale).

Completed applications should be returned to:

Office of Undergraduate Admissions
1220 Student Activities Building
515 E. Jefferson St.
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1316
Fax: 734-936-0740 or email to ecredentials@umich.edu

The deadline to return completed applications to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions is at least two weeks prior to the start of the term. Applications submitted after this time period will be withdrawn.

We will determine admissibility as applications are received and will notify the applicant of a decision by email.

To be admitted as a guest student, you must be in good academic standing at your home college or university. Admission as a spring and/or summer guest student does not imply that admission to a degree-seeking program at the University of Michigan will be granted.
