Marketing Efforts are records in DART that allow us to group a population of known constituents together for specific communication. They leverage DART queries to create selections of our population that will be mailed or emailed to and allow us to remove constituents who do not wish to be contacted using exclusions. Once a Marketing Effort has been activated, every constituent record within that effort will be tagged as having received the communication.
Public Media Efforts are when you do not who your population is going to be but you want to track whether someone has given as a result of that effort. These are typically used in Museum pamphlets that visitors may take home with them. They may also be used at large events.
Please reference OUD's Marketing and Communication guide for how to create Marketing and Public Media Efforts.
