Panopto: Create a Pre-Recorded Video

In addition to recording activities in the classroom, Panopto is also great for pre-recording video presentations, mini-lectures, or demonstrations for your students.  Recordings will go directly into your Canvas site for easy sharing.

Enable Panopto

  2. Navigate to your course
  3. Look for 'Panopto Recordings' in the left-hand course menu.

Record

  1. Click the 'Create' button at the top of the 'Panopto Recordings' page in your course.
  2. Select 'Panopto Capture'
  3. This will open a new browser tab.
  4. Click 'Allow' on prompts requesting access to your webcam and microphone.
  5. View or change your audio/video settings by clicking on the options across the top of the screen.
  6. Click the 'Screens and Apps' option to capture your screen as part of your recording.
  7. When ready, click the red 'Record' button to begin recording. Use the same button to stop your recording when finished.

  9. If you'd like, you can trim your video. See the 'Edit a Panopto Recording' help article.

Add Captions
