Issue

When attempting to add an email address to a Dropbox folder, a message appears saying "This email isn't on your Dropbox team."

Resolution

This means that either the email address you are adding is not a U-M email or the person that the email belongs to hasn't logged into their U-M Dropbox for the first time yet.

  1. First, confirm that the email address is correct.
    • If it's not correct, please share the file or folder with the correct email.
  2. If you confirm that the email is correct, please advise the person you are attempting to collaborate with to create their U-M Dropbox account following the instructions in our article "Create Your U-M Dropbox Account".
  3. Once their U-M Dropbox account is created and you are sharing with the verified correct email, you should be able to share the file/folder without error.

Note: Since the "Share folder" button will still be active, the email can be added anyway. You may need to remove the collaborator, save it, and then re-share the file/folder once the collaborator creates their U-M Dropbox.
