Fail to Create Meeting with Microsoft Teams Add-on for Google Calendar

Issue

When I try to schedule a Microsoft Teams meeting using the add-on, I receive an error that the meeting creation has failed. When I click "try again" I receive the same error.

Resolution

The Microsoft Teams add-on likely required an update, or the authorization you provided to the add-on has lapsed and needs to be renewed. The most efficient path is to uninstall and reinstall the add-on. Below are steps to do so.

1. Visit calendar.google.com and make sure you are signed in to your umich account.
2. On the right hand side of the screen, there should be a menu of icons. If you do not see this, click the arrow in the bottom right to "show side panel"
3. Click the plus sign (+) in the side panel, which should be at the bottom of the list of icons
4. This will pull up a window of add-ons. If you do not see the "Microsoft Teams Meeting" add-on, use the search bar to look for it.
   • If you already have it installed, it will say installed.
5. Click on the app thumbnail > Uninstall > Uninstall App
6. Then click Install > Continue. This will bring up a pop up to provide permissions for the add-on to work with your Google Calendar. Proceed with providing permissions and click "Done"
7. Refresh your browser page
8. Click the Microsoft Teams icon in the side panel of icons. A window will open to the right of those icons.
9. If prompted to log in to you Microsoft account, proceed with those steps, otherwise confirm that the correct name and email are listed at the top of the window.
10. Create a new Google Calendar event and select Microsoft Teams from the "Add Video Conferencing" Drop down menu. You should no longer see an error.
