How to transfer Google Calendars or Events.

Resolution

Transfer a calendar you created

If you own a calendar, and your Google account is deleted, your calendar will also be deleted. To save the calendar, transfer ownership to someone else. If you're moving to a new Google account, import events to your new Google Calendar.

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar
  2. On the left side of the page, click My calendars
  3. Hover over the calendar you want to add someone to and click Options -> Settings and sharing
  4. In the "Share with specific people" section, click Add people
  5. Enter the email address of the person or group you want to make an owner
  6. In "Permissions," select Make changes and manage sharing
  7. Click Send

The person or group you added will now also own the calendar.

Transfer an event to a calendar you don't own

If you create an event, you can make someone else its owner. After someone else becomes the owner, they can change any event details.

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar
  2. Click an event -> Options -> Change owner
  3. Enter a new owner and a message to send them
  4. Click Change owner
  5. The new owner receives an email with a link
    1. The link is valid for 60 days
    2. Important: Until the new owner accepts ownership, you're the event owner

Transfer an event to a calendar you own

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar
  2. Click an event -> Edit event
  3. Next to Calendar and calendar name, click the Down arrow
  4. Choose the calendar you want to move the event to
  5. Click Save

Copy an event to another calendar

  1. On your computer, open Google Calendar
  2. Click an event -> Options
  3. Choose a calendar to copy the event to
  4. Click Save
