Error: "There is not enough temporary space reserved to download the software."

Environment

Windows. Software Center

Issue

While trying to download/install a program from the Software Center onto your Windows computer, an error with the following message appears: "There is not enough temporary space reserved to download the software. You can use the Configuration Manager control panel applet to adjust the available temporary space."

Resolution

To resolve this issue, you need to delete the cache of temporary files in the Configuration Manager:

  1. Click on your Start menu on the bottom left of your screen and type control panel into the search field
  2. Select Control Panel
  3. In the search bar located at the top-right of the Control Panel window, type configuration manager
  4. Select the Configuration Manager option that appears
  5. Select the Cache tab
  6. Select Delete Files...
  7. Select Yes
  8. Close the screen and try to install the program again
