Issue

I received an email from Slack with the subject, "Message from U-M ITS Slack Attendant" (or another sender). What is this email? Is it legitimate?

Resolution

• By default, Slack sends automated email notifications to alert you of things you missed while you were inactive in Slack
• These are legitimate emails sent by Slack. You may confirm this by checking the sender, which should be U-M ITS Slack Attendant via Slack (notification@slack.com or notification@slack-mail.com)
• Learn how to adjust your email notification settings, if desired
• U-M ITS Slack Attendant is the bot that automates some processes in U-M Slack and may occasionally send you messages as part of these automated processes
  • One of the most common messages that U-M ITS Slack Attendant sends is an invitation to the umichWORKS Slack workspace
