Shared Service Center Document Scanning Service

Environment

U-M Ann Arbor

Issue

Does the University have a service that will scan documents?

Resolution

The Shared Service Center offers a scanning service for the U-M Community. Your documents are scanned in the file format best suited to your needs (including optical character recognition (OCR) on PDF documents).  Once the documents are imaged, the SSC provides file transfers to your U-M Box account, Google drive, or other storage types.

  1. Fill out the Document Imaging Request Form
  2. Email the form to doc-scan-info@umich.edu

If you want to scan your own documents, you can use use Perceptive Content Scanning software. You can scan your own documents using Perceptive Content Scanning software to ensure secure storage of your digitized documents. Documents can be retrieved electronically via a web-based tool at any time. Your group has exclusive, credentialed access to all documents or files. ITS provides technical support for Perceptive Content Scanning Software.

  1. To gain access to the Perceptive Content system, you will need to place a request through the Online Access Request System (OARS).
